Don’t Come Knockin’

Jesus said, " Ask and you shall receive, Knock and it shall be opened to you". What did he mean? Ask what ? Knock on what ? I believe he was saying to Ask for anything according to HIS will and "KNOCK" on the door which seperates the physical (sinful), Natural World from the Spiritual realm. Being born into a physical world with physical needs, physical desires, in a physical body which comes with a sinful nature, it is very hard, difficult and often times uncomfortable to let go of or to turn away from our sinful nature or our physical being. When you walk through the door that was opened to you when you "knocked" on it, many people choose to walk right back out again and go back to fulfilling the desires of the physical sinful nature. When you walk through that door and step into the Spiritual Nature, that is the Nature of Christ. That means that you have to pick up your Cross and follow Jesus, you have to Crucify yourself, your physical desires and your sinful nature EVERY SINGLE DAY for the rest of your physical life. This means, no more drugs, lies, stealing, pre-marital sex or ANY sex outside of marriage, no more drunkenness, no more unforgiveness, no more "payback" for people that have done you wrong….. WOW !, that’s not even all of it ! There’s a lot more, you have to judge your every action, your every word and even your own thoughts and hearts desires and put to death any desire, thought, action or anything else that is not of God. These thoughts and desires won’t just simply disappear and go away forever. They come back, they sneak in. Time after time you will find yourself having sinful thoughts and desires and you must get rid of those thoughts and exchange them with good ones. Opportunities to take advantage of people in SO MANY ways will NEVER stop appearing to you. Your willingness to do so will. Jesus said to take up your Cross and follow him. I don’t know about you but my Cross is a pretty big one and sometimes it gets hard to carry, but the longer and farther that I DO carry it, the easier it becomes and the lighter it seems. When you have a thought that is sinful, you must cast it out of your mind immediately. When you do this over and over again and FORCE yourself to have loving thoughts, (as Jesus instructed) and Holy thoughts, you will find yourself not having sinful thoughts as often as you used to. When you commit a sin, repent immediately, ask forgiveness from God, and if you sin against someone, go to them and ask forgiveness from them. God Hears you no matter where you are and He’s open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and I’m pretty sure he’s even open on Christmas !! Inspect your heart, look at yourself, who are you ? Are you someone that you would want as a friend, husband or wife ? if there is ANY hesitation in an answer of yes, you have some work to do on yourself as DO WE ALL ! So when you knock on the door and it is opened to you, the door that leads to a spiritual nature and a closer relationship with Christ get ready, because the FIGHT IS ON. It won’t always be fun and many times you will face even harder, more troubling times than ever before. Because when you step through the door Jesus spoke of, you are turning your back against satan and don’t think he won’t put up a fight to keep you on his team. So, if you aren’t prepared to fight the fight, stand firm and tall in the name of Jesus Christ and let your FAITH prevail and allow the Spirit of He that is in you to reveal himself and take POWER against satan and intercede on your behalf. DON’T COME KNOCKIN’

1Peter 5:6-11 Humble yourselves, therefore, under THE MIGHTY HAND OF GOD, that he may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strenghten and establish YOU. To Him be dominion forever and ever, Amen.
